It was by happenstance that I became a news anchor. But since that fateful phone call in 2004, I’ve developed a passion for news and realized the freedom and creativity that language affords when I attempt to present news in a cross-cultural context. I like the fact that our English news program is never sensationalist; instead, it focuses on what’s relevant, critical, interesting, and sometimes, beautiful and moving.
