Taipei City plans to launch a “digital vaccine passport” as early as Thursday. The passport will be integrated into the city’s TaipeiPASS mobile app.

The passport’s color will be based on the holder’s vaccination status. A green passport means the holder has been fully vaccinated for at least 14 days, or has even had a third shot. Yellow means the holder has had only one shot, and red means the holder is unvaccinated. The passport can be used by restaurants and other businesses to identify high- and low-risk customers, and to make arrangements accordingly. Taipei City itself plans to use the passport to lift or enforce restrictions on groups of different risk levels.
