Starting Wednesday, Pfizer will roll out to children aged 5 to 11. In Taipei City, registration for shots opened at 9 o’clock Tuesday morning. Within just 15 minutes, all 7,232 doses were booked. According to the CECC, 403,000 Pfizer doses were delivered to local governments in this first batch. Another 260,000 doses will be delivered on Friday. Health officials say 100,000 Pfizer doses will be kept in stock to distribute when needed.

As for Moderna, Taiwan may approve the brand for children under 6 as early as July. The CECC says it will decide after June, when the U.S. FDA will consider Moderna’s emergency use request. Currently, Moderna is only approved for children aged 6 to 11 in both Taiwan and the U.S.
