The wedding industry is huge business, and this year the sector has seen yet another innovation: the virtual wedding. Everyone has loved ones far away, perhaps even abroad, who might struggle to attend a wedding in person. That’s why some companies have started to offer virtual attendance options. One company that specializes in outdoor weddings now offers a “metaverse” package. Loved ones in far-flung places can join the ceremony in an immersive virtual simulation.
A bride in a white dress walks with poise toward her besuited groom. They gaze and smile at each other before making their vows with the blessings of their loved ones.
Hotels are the traditional wedding venue, but at an outdoor ceremony like this, the couple can tie the knot on a verdant lawn, surrounded by romantic, carefully designed decorations, looking like a prince and a princess just stepped out of a fairytale.
This company, which specializes in outdoor weddings, has arranged more than 100,000 ceremonies. As the digital romance trend grows, it’s now designed a “metaverse wedding” which allows loved ones from foreign shores or faraway locales to attend and offer their blessings online.
You create an avatar that matches your own appearance, and can attend the ceremony with one click. The brand uses 3D location imaging technology to create a 720-degree experience online. Virtual guests can walk wherever they like around the venue. There’s also an AI assistant to lead them around, creating an immersive experience that brings loved ones together over a distance.
