But what’s worse is that Team Captain Chen Chieh-hsien was injured during the game by a ball that hit the index finger on his left hand. Amid concerns from fans and fellow players, his team, the Uni-President 7-Eleven Lions arranged for a special check-up for him in Kaohsiung on Friday. Doctors confirmed he has a fracture on the distal phalanx of the finger. The diagnosis came with a peculiar irony. Internet users unearthed an old interview of Chen with an online media platform in which he discussed his hitting technique. In it, he specifically mentioned that the index finger on his left hand was completely useless. It turns out it was an injury on that very finger that put a damper on his run at the World Baseball Classic. His team says that the injury will take four to six weeks to heal. Fortunately, light training is still OK, as long as he wears protective gear. For more Taiwan news, tune in:Mon to Fri at 9:30 pm on Channel 152Tue to Sat at 1 am on Channel 53#baseball #陳傑憲 #fracture #finger #WBC#台灣新聞 #TaiwanNews #民視新聞 #FTV新聞 #Taiwan
