The magic of Disney has spread to Taiwan’s public transport, with several city buses in Taoyuan now fully decked out with colorful illustrations featuring everyone’s favorite characters. From Mickey and Minnie to Donald and Daisy Duck, they are a sight to behold in the city streets. But not everyone is loving it. Passengers are surprised at first, because it’s such a different design from the usual. The announcement is Mickey Mouse’s voice. It’s a bit unexpected, so it could startle some people. The new Disney-themed buses will be assigned randomly to different routes each month, along the Taoyuan Arterial Bus network. Their cute and eye-catching designs have attracted plenty of attention, and many fans of animation are hoping to catch a ride with the cartoon characters of their childhood. But for some more susceptible riders, the jarring stop-request sound has dampened the magical experience.
