Tsai Ing-wen
President
In democratic Taiwan, there are differing opinions on a variety of matters. There is also competition between political parties, and there is uncertainty brought by the pandemic and natural disasters. But in general, Taiwanese are kind and rational, and we face challenges with a spirit of solidarity that allows us to overcome difficulties. At this moment, we are at a critical time in the pandemic. Our most important goal is to reduce the fatality rate and continue to increase vaccine coverage to reduce the impact of the pandemic. Over the next two years, the administration will continue to build a stronger and more resilient nation.

The president was in Taoyuan to inspect the city''s pandemic measures. She stopped by the Bade District Office, where workers were assembling care packages for COVID patients who are in home care.
