During the final round of the Blue Canyon Phuket Championship on Sunday, Taiwanese golfer Chan Shih-chang shot a final round 68 four-under-par and won the championship by finishing 18 under par, a mere one-stroke difference with the runner-up. Chan was delighted that the Asian Tour has resumed after a long hiatus due to the pandemic since March last year.

It’s impossible, yeah, amazing! So everybody, because of COVID-19, so we stopped the tournament for about two years. So I’m very happy to come back to the Asian Tours.

This is the third Asian Tour win in Chan’s career. He bagged US$180,000, which is just over NT$5 million as a result of the win.
