A weather front brought strong winds, heavy rain, and thunderstorms to Northern Taiwan Saturday night. It also caused rough landings at the Taoyuan International Airport. According to a man on one of the flights, passengers on board were screaming, and some could even be heard vomiting during landing. Let’s hear from him.

During the plane’s descent there was turbulence, and we started hearing a lot of screaming and the sounds of vomiting. The descent was extremely bumpy. The moment when we touched down felt really dangerous. There was a series of banging sounds, really loud, louder than usual. In that instant, everyone screamed.

Between 9:00 and just after 10 o’clock on Saturday night, five flights were diverted from Taoyuan International Airport to Kaohsiung International Airport, and four flights had to perform go-arounds. In total, 802 passengers were affected. All passengers arrived safely, as their stormy ordeal came to a close.
