Taiwan’s military conducted the Tienma Exercise under the Third Theater of Operations, to demonstrate the combat effectiveness of its new weapons system. For the first time, Altius-600M attack drones were deployed to shoot maritime targets, firing more than a dozen rounds throughout the exercise. According to footage released by the military, the Altius-600M achieved a 100% hit rate, dispelling rumors that Ukraine had stopped using the American system due to poor accuracy.

Taiwan’s military previously purchased 291 Altius-600M drones from the US under Project Hunter Owl. The systems were fully delivered and commissioned in March this year, enhancing the military’s anti-armor capabilities. Weighing approximately 12 kg, the model is designed for extended loiter time and precision strikes. The military is also planning to acquire the more powerful Altius-700M drones from the US to further strengthen its strike capabilities.
