Did you lose a bag with NT$1 million on the high speed rail? That was the question everyone was asking at the central standing committee meeting the DPP held in Kaohsiung on Wednesday. A bag full of cash was discovered by cleaning staff inside the restroom of a train that arrived in Kaohsiung at 9:20 p.m. on Monday. Rumors are swirling that the cash belongs to a politician from Southern Taiwan.

The politician allegedly inquired about the money after it went missing, but so far, nobody has actually claimed it. For now, the NT$1 million has been put in a safe. If nobody goes to pick it up within a year, it will become property of the Taiwan High Speed Rail.
