Taiwan has kicked off combat readiness drills lasting five days and four nights on Monday, in case of a Chinese attack. On Tuesday morning, the Army’s 333rd Combined Arms Brigade was sighted passing through downtown Pingtung on Clouded Leopard armored vehicles and other combat vehicles, attracting many onlookers.

According to the Ministry of National Defense, this round of drills is a part of the Armed Forces’ regular annual joint exercises, and also the first of three rounds scheduled this year. Upon receiving orders, the 333rd Brigade must immediately complete vehicle preparation, personnel organization, and equipment checks before proceeding to their designated positions, to carry out combat readiness deployment and defense missions. Through live-fire exercises, the aim is to gradually increase the intensity of training, thereby strengthening the joint operational capabilities of the Armed Forces and their overall defense resilience.
