A fed-up sanitation worker in Nantou’s Mingjian Township crashed out in a spectacular manner on Thursday. The worker lost his cool just after a member of the public handed him a bucket with recyclables. Perhaps due to the heat or the large amount of rubbish he suddenly got frustrated and let it all out hurled the bucket out on the road from top of the truck. Let’s watch how it happened.

Clunk!
- Why would you do that?
- Why did you throw it?
- It’s easier.

Chen Han-li
Mingjian Mayor
It’s not OK. We immediately spoke with the head of the team, and with the worker and asked him to apologize. It’s really tough being a sanitation worker. Not just because of the smell. Yesterday, it was more than 40°C, and the truck is always shaking. But what he did was wrong, and we will mete out a punishment accordingly.

The sanitation worker said the long work day in the heat caused him to lose it. The mayor of Mingjian says that the township is considering improving the trucks to protect workers from high temperatures in summer, so that sanitation workers can have a better work environment.
