Two firefighters serving in Taoyuan put their professional skills to good use, even while off duty and on holiday in Japan. They were in Tokyo to watch the World Baseball Classic, when they encountered a local man collapsing while taking the metro. They did not hesitate to go over and check the man’s vital signs. One of them even spoke fluent Japanese.
This is Kanda Station in Tokyo, Japan, where a man is lying on the ground. Someone checks his breathing and pulse. You may think he’s a local Japanese medic, but instead, he’s a firefighter serving in Taoyuan.

A middle-aged man fell from the door. There was a loud thud when he fell on his face. I wondered where the loud noise came from, and saw someone had fallen onto the ground. Other Japanese people around seemed to be in shock, and so I went over to check his pulse.

They’ve always given their all on duty. They also assisted a member of the public while in Japan and given emergency care. I feel really honored knowing about their deed.

The firefighters are committed to saving others in emergencies, offering critical service even while on holiday abroad.
