A cilantro dumpling has claimed the title of 2026 Pingtung dumpling champion, beating out nine other competitors. The chef said he made the dumpling for his cilantro-obsessed daughter and didn’t expect for its unique flavor to be so popular.

All varieties of dumplings fight for the 2026 Pingtung dumpling championship, including a multicolored one, and another paired with banana.

- It’s hard to decide. There are three that I’m trying to pick between.

Official judges and 150 members of the public voted for their favorite dumpling, together selecting the champion.

A dumpling shop from Pingtung City won with its cilantro pork dumpling. The audience cheered loudly for this unique original flavor.
