The Loch Ness monster from Scotland seems to be taking a holiday right here in Taiwan, at Kaohsiung’s Chengcing Lake. If you go to the lake, you will most certainly spot Nessie’s head peeking out from its murky surface.

As you may have guessed, the iconic lake dweller didn’t actually make the trip across the world. What you see on the lake is actually a 9m tall model of a prehistoric creature that was put in place ahead of Children’s Day on this upcoming long weekend. And there it will stay until the end of June. Not only that, dinosaurs have also made a home at other spots in the southern port city, including Kaohsiung Main Station, Weiwuying Metropolitan Park, the Pier2 Art Center, and the National Science and Technology Museum.
