Have you ever seen goose road rage? One driver in Yilan was recently trying to drive down an alley in Yilan’s Zhuangwei Township, when a goose stepped straight into the middle of the road, blocking him from passing. The two sides had a standoff that dragged on until the driver’s friend couldn’t stand it anymore and got out of the car to coax it into letting them pass. Nearby residents said that the goose stays by the roadside and stops cars every so often, joking that he’s their “traffic guard.”
A huge white goose appeared by the side of this country road, forcing the driver to slow down. He hoped it would move off to the side, but then...

Saw the goose
Since I wasn’t familiar with the area, I was a little lost. When I saw the goose run out from the field, it scared me half to death. We were in a standoff for a bit. My buddy got out to pat its head, and only then did it reluctantly let me pass. But then it bit my friend’s hand!
Only after receiving some validation did the goose finally let them pass. A reporter went to the place in Yilan’s Zhuangwei Township to see for himself.
The goose seems to treat the roadside as its nest. Whenever anyone gets close, it steps up to block their way. The nearby shop owners have long since gotten used to it. Turns out the goose is a famous town bully.
Whether it’s defending its territory or just wants a toll in the form of pats, this town bully has certainly made a name for itself.
