Tai Tzu-ying, badminton world No. 1 since 2016, and Olympic silver medalist.

Tai Tzu-ying came from a badminton family. Her parents are keen players and amateur champions. Badminton was part of Tai’s life from an early age, and she began formal training while in third grade. In sixth grade, she won the second division league. She rose to the first division, becoming the youngest first division player in Taiwan’s history. Since 2010, Tai has toured worldwide to compete, constantly winning championships at pro badminton fixtures all over the world. In 2016, she was named world No. 1, and she held the title longer than any other No. 1 has.
