Taiwan has been left unscathed as tropical storms Aere and Chaba pulled away from the island. However, precipitation is likely to continue in Taiwan''s central and southern regions as well as the Hengchun Peninsula, where scattered downpours may occur.

This is due to a low pressure system that is expected to linger until Wednesday. Starting Thursday, a high pressure system over the Pacific will expand westward, putting an end to the rain in central and southern Taiwan. Northern Taiwan will be mostly cloudy, and the public is advised to watch out for afternoon thundershowers.
