Flower lovers, this one is for you. The 2026 Taiwan International Orchid Show and Floral Technology Exhibition is just around the corner. The event will open its doors on Feb. 27 at the Houbi Flower Innovation Park in Tainan. On Tuesday, organizers held a pre-event press conference, which was attended by Tainan Mayor Huang Wei-che as well as Deputy Agriculture Minister Hu Chung-yi. This year, the orchid exhibition has attracted participants from 30 countries. There will be exhibitors and buyers on site, with transaction values estimated at more than NT$1.2 billion.
Hu Chung-yi
Deputy Minister of Agriculture
Orchids are our pride, and the result of the hard work of professionals in the industry. We expect the total transaction value to be double last year’s at NT$1.2 billion. The total transaction value over the next three to five years should surpass NT$20 billion.
Huang Wei-che
Tainan Mayor
There are so many orchid growers who’ve worked so hard. I think this upcoming edition will be outstanding. This year, the event overlaps with the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Chiayi. It’s the perfect opportunity to view the orchids in Tainan during the day and then go to the lantern festival at night.
This year’s orchid show has four main exhibition zones. Besides the latest orchid varieties, organizers are also harnessing the latest technologies. AI tech applications will combine famous artworks with orchid displays to create a divers and immersive viewing experience. Mayor Huang also says that, with the US reducing its tariffs to 15%, Taiwanese orchids are very competitive in the global market. That’s not just due to the tariff rates, however, but also due to the high quality of the flowers.
