Pop singer Angel Yang was performing outside in Taichung when she invited a young fan to sing with her. The girl shocked the audience with her captivating voice and expressive Taigi pronunciation, quickly going viral online. This young talent is none other than the 12-year-old Chen You-chen, and she is also already starring in a televised singing competition.

This young girl stunned the audience with her beautiful voice and heartfelt performance, nearly stealing the show from Angel herself.

The audience was amazed from the moment she opened her mouth. Her voice was very steady, considering the microphone was suddenly put in front of her. I asked her how old she was after she finished singing. She said she’s 12. I have to clarify for her, we did this completely on-the-spot. I just had to ask her if she’s a singer, and she told me she’s on a singing program.

This young Taiwanese singer has already sung on several TV shows. Her name is Chen You-chen.

Chen’s vocal control, ease between registers and mastery of Taigi is well beyond her years. She learned to sing in Taigi first from her grandmother, and her mother later found a teacher to help her.
