The patients had all eaten food from a popular spring roll shop at Zhengyi Market in the city’s Lingya District. Tests have come back positive for salmonella for 12 of the patients. The owners of the business have not been cooperative with authorities. Initially, they responded to the allegations with hostility, asking authorities how they would be compensated if it turned out that the source of the cluster was somewhere else. They also concealed ingredients including eggs and shredded meat from investigators. For that, they are facing a heavy fine of NT$1.44 million. But with the number of people sickened steadily rising, the business may face criminal charges for violating the Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. For more Taiwan news, tune in:Mon to Fri at 9:30 pm on Channel 152Tue to Sat at 1 am on Channel 53#food #springroll #roll #taiwan #foodpoisoning #salmonella#台灣新聞 #TaiwanNews #民視新聞 #FTV新聞 #Taiwan
