But putting traps and poison out to kill them doesn’t sit right with everyone. A tea wholesaler in Nantou City has found another way to get rid of the pesky pests, without having to hurt them. All they do is play a certain sound that scares rodents away. So what is this clever solution? Let’s hear from the tea trader.Tea sellerFound way to scare ratsIt really works. When we started playing the sounds, we saw lots of rats running away. We want to be humane, because rats are living beings as well. Poisoning them causes them a lot of suffering. The light bulb moment for this tea trader was compiling a collection of cat calls online and playing them inside his warehouse. That makes for a peaceful, eco-friendly way to drive the rats away. But if that proves ineffective, there’s always the true-and-tested method of actually bringing real cats into the premises. That’s what a tire shop owner in Caotun Township did, as the shop is located near a large drainage ditch. The shop adopted two stray cats, which occasionally show their catch and parade it around the shop. After a few successful hunts, the rats seem to have decided it’s best to reroute and avoid the area. For more Taiwan news, tune in:Mon to Fri at 9:30 pm on Channel 152Tue to Sat at 1 am on Channel 53 #rat #rodent #pest #householdpest#台灣新聞 #TaiwanNews #民視新聞 #FTV新聞 #Taiwan
