Starting July 1, it''ll pay to go green -- it''ll pay at least NT$5, to be exact. Under a new EPA policy, a discount of at least NT$5 must be given at beverage shops, convenience stores, fast food chains, and supermarkets, to customers who bring their own reusable cup.
Fast-food chains McDonald''s, KFC, Mos Burger and T.K.K. Fried Chicken have said they''ll comply with the minimum NT$5 discount. Convenience store chain 7-Eleven will offer a NT$7 discount for a limited time only, from June 21-23.
