Over this past weekend, Kaohsiung was the place to be for K-pop fans, as boy band Seventeen’s sub-unit CxM held three concerts in the city. The two members of the duo had plenty of time to explore Kaohsiung, which gave rise to some funny situations. During a concert, Mingyu said that he used Google Maps to go on a jog to Cijin Beach, but after running 5km he reached the sea and realized that the only way to get there was by riding a ferry. In the end he only took a couple of pictures and returned to the hotel, making for an unforgettable story. Let’s hear more.

I jogged about 5km only to find I had to take a boat to get there. So I just run 5km. Google Maps said it was possible, but when I saw the sea in the distance I realized, “Oh, it’s an island!” I took a picture and ran back.

They are so adorable. They ran all the way there only to discover that he had to take a boat. They probably didn’t get EasyCards, so they couldn’t get across.

I saw the photo the dancer took. I guess they went out for a run together. It’s so cute, they might as well check in.

The K-pop stars made the most of their time in Kaohsiung, exploring the city and all it has to offer. As they visited attractions all over, they gave a pleasant surprise to their fans, who followed them to take photos, and inadvertently promoted Kaohsiung as a tourist destination.
