Dentists are always viewed as serious and professional. But one dentist in Kaohsiung has been posting reels of himself singing and dancing, including a cover of Gigi Leung’s hit song Coward that went viral. People were charmed by his voice and charisma, encouraging him to keep entertaining.

Wearing his professional white coat, a dentist sings a classic Mandopop song, nailing the choreography.

He also performs viral dances, staying on trend. But this dentist doesn’t consider himself an influencer. In fact he’s quite new to the world of social media.

I have a strong desire to share things, so I created my own account online and started posting some videos of myself singing for people to watch.

The 43-year-old Dr. Kuo has been working as a dentist for over a decade. Last year he decided to merge his profession with his hobby and started posting singing videos on social media. Now, he’s gone viral.

I was mentally prepared for the fact that a chubby guy dancing would get teased a lot online. I really didn’t expect the response to be so positive. People have been so encouraging.

Turning the clinic into his stage, Dr. Kuo shoots reels during his time off. Since he isn’t a dancer, he watches videos to ingrain the choreography in his memory. It takes him up to six hours just to learn and shoot a 30-second video.

Some kids cry whenever they see the dentist. But kids like watching him singing and dancing, and then adults don’t have to keep comforting them.

Thanking his fans, Dr. Kuo said he’ll keep pursuing his hobby while maintaining his dental practice. He will continue singing and dancing, spreading joy in a generally serious profession.
