Heavy downpours continue to pound Taiwan. Over in Kaohsiung, authorities have issued 68 yellow alerts for landslides across mountainous areas. Police officers went door to door in vulnerable areas to help residents evacuate to shelters, with some 2,000 people relocated.

Over in Liugui, farmers were hard at work to minimize losses in the harvest season. They rushed to harvest wax apples and guavas and prevent the fruit from rotting in the rain. Betel nut farms were also hit hard, with many areas fully submerged in water. Farmers loaded as much fresh produce as they could to beat the bad weather. Concerned about their livelihoods, they say they hope the rains will let up soon.
