A walking event was held by the WHO in Geneva on Sunday prior to the opening of the 77th World Health Assembly tomorrow. During the event, an FTV reporter approached WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus for comment on Taiwan’s exclusion from the WHA, but he was rebuffed by the WHO chief.

Chen Yao-chi
FTV reporter
Why can’t Taiwan participate in the WHA?

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
WHO director-general
Can we do it later? We have other work to do.

Chen Yao-chi
FTV reporter
Are you feeling pressure from China?

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus
WHO director-general
No pressure.

Chen Yao-chi
FTV reporter
No pressure? Please say something.

A Taiwanese delegation to Geneva also showed up at the walking event, holding banners that read "Taiwan can help." The team shouted slogans as they walked, expressing the hope that Taiwan could return to the WHA as an observer.
